Sacramento’s most famous donuts and a classic for decades! We ordered a chocolate bar, glazed donut, and raspberry filled donut. All delicious, warmly served. Donut bases were soft and airy with a light crisp on outside. Glaze is sweet. Some of the best donuts ever! Speciality ones were out by the time we got there, so go early! Service is quick and kind, despite a busy long line. You order from outside, looking inside at their donuts from a glass window then pay at the window. Vibe is old school, vintage donuts right in the heart of a diverse Sacramento neighborhood.

**⭐⭐ (2/5)** As a massive apple fritter fan, I really wanted to love this spot, especially given the high ratings and the classic, nostalgic look of the walk-up stand. Unfortunately, the actual pastry was a major letdown for the flavor profile. On the positive side, the service here is incredibly friendly, parking in the lot is easy, and they clearly know how to operate a fryer. The fritter is huge, with a beautifully dark, craggy, and crispy exterior that manages to stay soft on the inside without drying out. However, a great apple fritter needs to actually feature fruit and spice. Breaking into this one, I found maybe two tiny pieces of apple in the entire thing—it was almost completely just fried dough. There was also a total absence of cinnamon or any warming spices to give it depth. To top it off, it is completely swimming in an overpowering sugar glaze that drowns out what little flavor might have been there. If you just want a massive, perfectly fried, crispy piece of sweet dough, you'll be happy. But if you're looking for a true, balanced apple fritter with real fruit chunks and spice, this completely misses the mark.

I can’t always make it here for donuts but when I can, I absolutely do. My favorite is their blueberry donut. Ugggh it’s the best donut in this whole wide world. The only downside is the ordering process. It’s just awkward more than anything. I have to yell through a glass window as the speaker doesn’t always work. I suppose it’s just part of the experience. I still go when I can.

Solid donut place- this place has a lot of history and has been there for a good while. The donuts was solid, the service was good. I think they have some specialty donuts but they go really quick. I would say- quality looks 4/5. I would probably rate it higher if I tried the specialty ones. Very popular, and it's always good to support local business.
